“It’s now been 2 years since we moved into our home and we couldn’t be more pleased! The house you built for us is exactly what we were looking for. Not only is it a beautiful country home in a great setting, it also has those “hidden” features that made it a financially sound purchase. The efficiency of the PolySteel construction definitely contributed to our lower than expected electric bills. (In comparison, our previous block home in Venice was much smaller and yet had higher monthly electric bills.) We wouldn’t change a thing if we had it all to do again!”
–Jeff & Kris Smith, North Port Estates, FL

“As we began to show this home, one thing became clear. Even though this house looked like ordinary construction, it had a solid quietness that we call a ’sanctuary environment’. This one aspect of PolySteel has sold more projects than even the energy savings. We sincerely THANK YOU for giving us a product that is good not only for the builder but also for the home owner.”
–Tom S. Nickel, Billings, MT

“As a fire chief, I can appreciate that this construction offers no addition to the fire load, should an upset ever occur? Additionally, there is no travel or conduction of flame over any of your construction. I am anxiously looking forward to the move in date, so that I may enjoy the benefits of your product.”
–Joel S. Hart, Chief-Labelle-Fannett V.F.D.
“We are tremendously pleased with our insulated PolySteel basement because of the hours of building time and labor costs that it saved us, costing much less than a full concrete basement would…PolySteel is a good product! We are happy with the outcome; and our builders, as first time novices, we’re happy with the process and plan to use PolySteel again and again in future new homes. This has been a pleasing experience for us, and we recommend PolySteel to anyone for its cost-efficiency, low maintenance, and good looks.”
–Frank Davido, Zillah, WA
“This 3,000 sq. ft. home is being heated for an average of $1.22 per day since October 1995 with ELECTRICITY! That’s $37.82 for the month of January when a lot of the days never reached above 0 degrees. This home features 30 windows and doors and ceilings that average over 10′ tall, plus it has a conditioned crawl space, which makes it nice for storage. All totaled, we are conditioning over 39,000 cubic ft. of space. In comparison to an average home of this size, with 8′ ceilings, and no crawl space, you would only be conditioning 24,000 cubic ft. Nothing was sacrificed in the design of this home. It feels bright and roomy with plenty of light to fill the space. Yet it is consuming less than ½ the energy needed to heat a wood frame home half of its size.
–Dan Hendrick, Whitefish, MT

As you can see for a house half the size of our PolySteel house, they are paying over double in natural gas bills.”
–Tom S. Nickel, Billings, MT

“Our average bill for the first year heating and cooling was $45.43. The small town that we buy our electricity from has even higher rates than we could get direct from the local major utility… If we ever have to build another house it will definitely be of the same construction.”
–Quez & Debbie Litte, NC

“Our home of 3,300 square feet is not difficult to either heat or deep cool – and we have neither a ’supplemental heat source’ nor an air conditional…our home contains FIVE gas appliances (furnace, two water heaters, a dryer and a range), our average has bill your-round is $57.00/mo.”
–James & Patricia Ebacher, WA

“As a present to ourselves we enclosed the garage and sat back and awaited the fated electric bills. Guess what! No change. We compared electric bills for 4 months (the old home versus the new) and we are currently saving an average of $70.00 – $75.00 per month on our electric bills.”
–Deborah Kehler, Beaumont, TX
“…we built a PolySteel (foam form) gymnasium that has a cubic content equivalent to a 2,200 S.F. home. We put a radiant floor heating system powered by a 40-gallon water heater. We also included in our design a Heat Recovery Ventilator. Winter descended with a bang. Temperatures dropped to 20 below with successive nights of 10 below. We dropped by to see how the gym was doing. The room was a comfortable 60 degrees, the way the kids like it when they’re jumping around in basketball, but the flue pipe on this new style (totally enclosed combustion chamber) water heater was cold… I disassembled the combustion chamber and found the flame out-the burner was even rusty…by the time we restored the heat, at least six days had passed since the heat was on. The temperature in the gym had dropped only six degrees! Can you imagine living in a conventionally built house for 6 days of subzero weather with no heat? If I had any doubts about the benefits of the American PolySteel forms before, I sure don’t now!”
–Herb P. Strack, Franklin, MI

“….Our home is so soundproof, we chose to install an intercom system. The concrete and Styrofoam allows the teenagers to play their loud music in the comfort of their rooms without disturbing others. So too, the young children can sleep in their rooms undisturbed while noisier activities are happening in other parts of the house. The built-in sound barrier works in reverse as well. The unwelcome noises from outside are shut out. In fact, if I do not have a window open, I cannot hear the lawnmower, the dog barking, or the children teasing each other. After a hectic day out there in the real world it is wonderful to come home to true peace and quiet.
–James & Patricia Ebacher, Camas, WA

“Now that our house is our home, we are thoroughly enjoying the benefits of PolySteel construction. Beyond the obvious strength and durability of a home of this type, there is unexpected benefit in the noise insulation it affords. Not only do the walls absorb the usual household sounds, creating a marvelous ambiance, they provide nearly complete isolation from the ear-shattering roar of jet fighters flying over head.”
–Mr. & Mrs. Michael Feris, Chesapeake, VA

“Our home is right across the street from a very busy and active summer resort, with boaters on the Lake and a crowded beach. The noise is so subdued one can only guess that such activity is taking place. We don’t even hear the traffic.”
–The Shultz Family

“My son-in-law sat here one day when the wind was blowing dirt down the road furiously and he said ‘this house is just amazing, you can’t even hear the wind.’ You can’t hear the dogs barking or cars in the middle of the night if all the windows are closed.”
–Billie Gardner, Millford, NE
“I am now convinced that PolySteel is an excellent construction method. This house has the lowest air exchange rate of any house I have tested…I congratulate you on your commitment to quality and your willingness to adopt new construction techniques that undoubtedly add to affordability, durability, comfort, energy savings, and satisfied homeowners.”
–Steve Saunders/Energy Consultant/Virginia Power, Norfolk, VA
“I had heard about the benefits of a finished PolySteel home. I was concerned, though, about building with a new product. I figured it would be pretty complicated and time consuming. It was pouring rain, but my Dad and I were able to stack the forms, pour the concrete and be ready for trusses in 3 days. Not too bad for me and my old man! You said this stuff was good, but I had no idea how good. I am impressed. I have a solid house that was easy for me to build myself. I have gotten energy savings, peace of mind, and saved a few trees to boot.”
–Greg Hunton, Beaverton, OR

“Our neighbor, who happened to be a contractor, came by our home during the main pour. (Our main floor is actually a 2nd story, as we have a walkout daylight basement.) He stood there and watched and could not believe his eyes. He said, ‘If I hadn’t seen it for myself, I would not have believed it possible.’ He had never seen a wood-construction pour over four feet that did not have at least one occurrence of a ‘blow-out’. Here, we built a three story home, all PolySteel to the rafters, and never had a single ‘blow-out’.
–The Ebacher Family, Camas, WA
“With our supplier’s help for part of the day the project took off quickly and they completed the full basement walls to the house (2,800 sq. ft.) in 2-½ days. We were unable to find a pump truck in making the concrete pour, but we wound up with an excellent finished product anyway with the straightest, well formed walls around the windows and doors that I have ever seen.”
–Frank Davido, Zillah, WA
“My girlfriend Joyce and I put the basement up in two days. The neighbors went away for the weekend on Friday evening and were they surprised when they came home Sunday evening and there was a basement. The second floor Joyce and I put up the PolySteel in a day and a half. Our carpenter Monty had the window bucks already made and helped with the bracing. Joyce and I installed the rebar and the block. Our little concept of 1,200 square feet has grown to over 3,000 square feet of livable floor space on two floors…If you need someone to confer with on how easy the PolySteel is to install, give Joyce or me a call.”
–Linda Mines, Hot Springs, SD

“This project was built by my 70 year old father (who started in the building business in 1954) and myself. Dad had some heart trouble several years ago and one thing the doctor said was a ‘no-no’ was heavy lifting. Your forms made it possible for Dad to continue working with me. He is still going strong at age 72.”
–Tim S. Nicke. Billings, MT
“My husband had seen a demonstration and presentation of PolySteel forms at a recent Rotary meeting by a local builder, Cope., Inc., and was impressed with the numbers – but would it really make a difference? After many hours of ‘pencil pushing’, and studying PolySteel versus frame construction, we made the decision to take the risk and try PolySteel. Our building was the first commercial building to be constructed from PolySteel in this area so we were anxious, yet cautious…
My first praise of PolySteel developed from the timing of completeness being so rapid. We opened our doors to the public on January 12, 2009, and I know this date would have been impossible with another type of construction.
I have been completely sold on PolySteel since the school was complete, and have done my best to spread the word. It is easy to heat as well as cool and always easy to control a ‘comfort zone’. My husband and I hope to build a new home in the next few years and there is not a doubt that our construction will be of PolySteel.”
